Import products

With Shopmatic’s Import Products tool, business owners can populate their shop catalog on the Shopmatic platform with a few simple clicks. This tool allows customers to easily add products by using a CSV file for a bulk product uploads.

CSV Bulk Import
To bulk upload products using CSV, download the Shopmatic sample CSV file first.
This feature can only be used for adding new products to your Shopmatic webstore, it does not affect the existing products

How to download the sample CSV file:
1. From the Shopmatic dashboard, click on the top left button to access the Products page.

2. On the Product Page, from the top left corner, click on “Import Product”

3. Click on the CSV icon

4. Click on “Download the CSV template to see the format required”

How to fill the sample CSV file:
Uploading products via a CSV file requires data to be uploaded in a fixed format. Please see the table below to know more about how to fill the CSV file.

Please note these points when filling in the CSV file:
1. Refrain from making any changes to the text from Row 1, from Column A to Column Z.
2. Column A and Column B are the only mandatory fields for each product, leave the other fields blank if they are not applicable.

The selling price of the product.

Will be shown with a strikethrough (Eg. 100), additionally, If the list price is greater than 5% of the price, the difference in percentage will be displayed.

The product description.

The total stock quantity of the product.

Please enter either value, True or False:
True: Allow customers to continue buying even when the stock reaches 0.
False: Not allow customers to continue buying when stock reaches 0.

1. From the Shopmatic dashboard, click on the top left button to access the Products page

2. On the Product Page, from the top left corner, click on “Import Product” How to upload a completed CSV file:

3. Click on the CSV icon

4. Either drag and drop the CSV file into the pop-up window or manually upload the CSV file by selecting it from your folder.

  • The average uploading time for 200 products is only one minute.
  • Uploaded products will be placed in the All Products category. If products were tagged with a category, then they will automatically fall into their respective categories on the Shopmatic webstore.
  • Imported products are set to “Hidden” so that they can be reviewed before going live on the webstore.
  • To import more products, repeat steps 1 to 3 above, and choose “Upload CSV file again”.

How to Cancel an import:

  1. If an import product is taking too long, you can simply cancel the product import and try again, simply click on “Import Product” and you should see this window
  2. Next click on Cancel importing, and you will be asked to confirm your decision. Simply click on confirm, and the product import will stop.

Please note: If you have a duplicate listing on your CSV file, it will upload duplicate products. Likewise, if the same CSV file is uploaded twice, this will also create duplicate listings on your Shopmatic webstore.
